Pupil Deprivation Grant

In the year 2016 – 2017 the school received £104,550.

We have used this to continue to raise standards in literacy and numeracy, to develop our community provision and to raise attendance.

We have a fulltime wellbeing and nurture teacher at Gladstone who focuses on supporting vulnerable children and ensuring all children are happy and ready to learn. We have also developed a team of LSAs to target Literacy and Numeracy interventions which include Speech and Language Links, Catch Up, dyslexia screening and intervention and Breaking through Barriers.

We have a dedicated LSA who runs community sessions every afternoon which are open to all parents, grandparents and friends of Gladstone. These sessions have included making healthy lunchboxes, keep fit, candle making and using laptops.
